Hi Bernd, Currently we use Kafka for logs collection that are send from containers so that the client can consume in a centralized way. The Kafka server is always embedded in the Application Master right now.
Allowing to use an existing Kafka cluster was being discussed when we were working on Weave, and is part of the plan, but is not supported yet.
