1) Are you referring to MD-DUCC? I did this search a while back and
although it is software it looks like a totally different DUCC animal:

"Computer programs for editing images, sound and video; Computer software
for use in the encryption and decryption of digital files, including audio,
video, text, binary, still images, graphics and multimedia files; Computer
software for use in the safeguarding of digital files, including audio,
video, text, binary, still images, graphics and multimedia files;
Distribution amplifiers for audio and video signals; Electronic
interconnecters for a.."

I will post a question on Apache trademarks to get a legal opinion.
