We have tested and recommend to use the G1GC garbage collector and
StringDeDuplication setting with Java 1.8+ (Usergrid 2.1.0 + requires Java 1.8
anyways):

With these changes, we see more frequent and consistent GCs, with only an
additional 5-10% CPU overhead.
