Here is my notes on KVM in VCL 2.3. There are also emails in Jun archive, as I 
communicated with the group. 
I made some changes to the VCL for KVM imaging/reservation (link below). 
The changes may not be necessary but I couldn't make it work without.

I've used couple guides to configure KVM. One of them -

The host OS  is CentOS 6 in minimal install.
