Good point Henry. IPv6 support is long overdue. We are trying to release 2.5 it ASAP in order to facilitate the transition from Subversion to Git. IPv6 is a substantial change and doesn't fit this time frame. I think it should definitely be considered for the next major release.
Regarding this particular issue, I removed the 2.5 tag yesterday. It was inappropriately tagged 2.5 last November since there was no discussion regarding which release it should be included in. Once 2.5 is released, I'll start a 2.6 roadmap planning thread. (We should have done this for 2.5 but the ball was dropped.) There shouldn't be any issues tagged for future releases at this point. The dev community will decide which issues to tag as 2.6 and we can hopefully come up with a reasonable plan. The roadmap thread will be the ideal opportunity for everyone from committers to lurkers to have an impact on the future of VCL development. Arguments supporting IPv6 should certainly be presented. -Andy On Mon, Aug 10, 2015 at 5:57 PM, Henry Schaffer <[email protected]> wrote: > Several weeks ago ARIN gave out its last IPv4 addresses (I was told by a > reliable source.)
