Hi Folks, This is the draft for the report of may is below, please read carefully and let me know what you think and your thoughts.
The deadline is until 3 of may because we need to upload it until may 4 (be with you!) Best regards, Bertty Wayang <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/December2021#wayang> Wayang is a cross-platform data processing system that aims at decoupling the business logic of data analytics applications from concrete data processing platforms, such as Apache Flink or Apache Spark. Hence, it tames the complexity that arises from the "Cambrian explosion" of novel data processing platforms that we currently witness. Wayang has been incubating since 2020-12-16. Three most important unfinished issues to address before graduating: <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/December2021#three-most-important-unfinished-issues-to-address-before-graduating-8> 1. Make sure that every PPMC can manage a release. 2. Had a significant growth (stars/forks at GitHub), but we want to gain popularity further and grow the community. Are there any issues that the IPMC or ASF Board need to be aware of? <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/December2021#are-there-any-issues-that-the-ipmc-or-asf-board-need-to-be-aware-of-> When establishing whether "Apache Wayang" was a proper name, it was rejected because the 'wayang' word was wrong translated by Google Translator as 'puppet' but instead of that means 'Imagination' or 'shadow'. Because of the confusion and to avoid future problems, the process is under "ASF's trademark counsel". The process started in January, and until these days, the community did not get any status updates. How has the community developed since the last report? <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/December2021#how-has-the-community-developed-since-the-last-report-9> The community growth is significant (according to Github); during the last month, the main repository had been cloned at least one time per day from a unique IP, and two persons outside of the committer registered had been contributing to the code. How has the project developed since the last report? <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/December2021#how-has-the-project-developed-since-the-last-report-9> The community had been focused on increasing the scope of the tests and developing the Python API to help the data scientist area that it is one of the user focus. How would you assess the podling's maturity? <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/December2021#how-would-you-assess-the-podlings-maturity-9> Please feel free to add your own commentary. - Initial setup - Working towards first release - Community building - Nearing graduation - Other: Technology-wise, the Podling is a productive state, and it is growing adaption in the market, especially from companies with large data processing pipelines. Date of last release: <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/December2021#date-of-last-release-> December 13, 2021 When were the last committers or PPMC members elected? <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/December2021#when-were-the-last-committers-or-ppmc-members-elected-9> 2021-03-05 : Committer Have your mentors been helpful and responsive? <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/December2021#have-your-mentors-been-helpful-and-responsive-9> Yes, the mentors are very responsive and helpful. Is the PPMC managing the podling's brand / trademarks? <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INCUBATOR/December2021#is-the-ppmc-managing-the-podlings-brand--trademarks-9> The name is under the process of "ASF's trademark counsel."
