Well I find this arrangement a bit chaotic actually. Given what you're attempting to achieve here, I find the difference in "look" for the Resources section really out of place with the other 3 categories.
How about if we move the whole "Resouces" section to the left side and design it like "General Links"

I don't like the rolling indentation for the dates..at first I thought this was some attempt at a hierarchy but then I see it's not, and well, it just looks odd, plus as an end-user, my first inclination was to use the light yellow date boxes as buttons but they don't do anything.
In summary, well, OK, some interesting ideas here but maybe a different sort of design is needed?
nice. i will not add useless comments to keep the noise low.
i see you used some generic icons (search.png), this is OK, i will provide specific ones as soon as we will have a (relatively) stable list of needs.
