I prefer the current solution. Having the text for downloads outside of the download box is counterintuitive.
I agree with Louis, I'd prefer it *in* the button as well.
One alternative would be two buttons (this will clutter the site)

another would be: Only say "Download or get it on CD" and link to a modified download-central page that makes the emphasis.
I think I basically suggested some general wording like this earlier today. The current DL page, the one they're going to anyway has quite a few options.
