These are the same points why many project leads think that we must make it easier for everybody (even end users) to find their way to the project pages. Even non-developers might be interested in finding out what a particular is currently working on or had planned to do. The discussion about the templates dialog in the nl list clearly shows this. This seems to go into the same direction: make it easier to find the project pages. Of course these pages need to be reworked to present the necessary content in an attractive way. If you think that we should have a compiled lists of what's going on in all projects that should be another page that is linked to from the "projects" page as well. Let my add something from the POV of somebody who has to create such lists: these lists should be in the OOo wiki because it's much easier to keep a wiki up to date. And I hope that people will more diligently update these lists the easier it is to do so.
