Hi Nik,

You're right, the gull silhouette really adds to it. However, I think
we should stick with the current OpenOffice.org logo until v3 comes
out (if v3's logo/typeface change), for the sake of familiarity and so
it's not too drastic a change for when the new design goes live. Once
v3 is launched (or just before) and the logo and typefaces have been
decided upon, I'd be all for your header design - it looks great!

Maybe we could use a vector seagull silouette on the current design,
I'll give that a try, but I'm guessing it might make it look more
busy.

I've recently shortened the banner from 200px to 175px, and I don't
think I could make it any shorter without badly distorting the wave
(tried it, and it looks bad). I like the wave (S-curve), it adds a
dynamic touch and a little more color variety - though your design
compensates for this with the nice blues in the action statement
boxes.

Just from staring at it and getting used to it over the last 2 weeks,
I prefer the new design as it it stands now. Maybe it could be an
intermediate step between the OOo website as is now and a v3 edition
resembling something like your proposal.

- Ivan.
