Hi Travis,

The above is only useful for accidental arrivals.  OpenOffice.org does not 
have a lot of accidentals.  People come to the site because of curiosity or a 
specific need.  No more information is needed than that which is there right 
now and why the "I want to learn more...." action statement is at the top

The new front page is designed as an index and is therefore designed to help 
new arrivals onward to the particular page suits their needs best as quickly 
as possible.   New arrivals shouldn't stop there longer than a few seconds.
