However moving to a whole blogging system is a worst idea. IMO it
looks
unprofessional to send them to a blogger site. Is like "we didn't even
bother to get a blog system on our own domains/servers". At least
thats
the impression as a visitor coming into this.
That would be mirroring blogger site here, on our own server, so
this is
not exactly moving, but yes, comments (if allowed) would go through
blogger site. But as John suggested, we can also mangle the blogger
site
via planet, as we already do in several places, so that no traces would
be there to see that it's hosted somewhere else.
Not quite ... look at http://www.openoffice.org/news/indox.html. It
doesn't take too much work to find it's fed from
http://ooonews.wordpress.com :-)
Well, the only place where it's visible on the page is the img tag,
and that's fixable with a couple of sed commands before committing the
page ;)
Do we want to provide RSS and Atom feeds from the OOo news page? If we
do, then they would link back to the wordpress articles (look at the
links at the bottom of the page).
Sed to the rescue again. RSS files, esp. those generated automatically,
should be easily parsable by awk/sed scripts. All we need is actually
search/replace for ooonews.wordpress.com -> ooo/news etc. Definitely a
simpler thing than developing a whole blog solution for collabnet.

Marcin
