1) By looking at the Special Page for all Articles I noticed the DE
pages are listed before the normal spelled "Da..." pages.
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3AAllpages&from=d&namespace=0
Is this normal behavior? It just irritates me, I'd prefere case
insensitive search results here.
That is normal. The Wiki is case sensitive.
2) I did not see the breadcrumb in the DE pages, therefore created a new
page just called DE - seems to me that the introduction of subpages
needs substantial restructuring of the whole page tree.
That is something that page owners can setup and maintain.
many pages listed in "Special:All pages" seem broken like e.g.:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/DE/FAQ
(in my browser nothing is displayed, apache returns just a strange "200
OK" header but nothing else)
Hmmmm that is not good news. This is a side effect of the DE pages
using namespace naming styles on a Wiki that has no language specific
namespaces. It shows up when we enable Extensions that are "namespace
aware". "Fixing" it is fairly easy.. but it means disabling the two new
extensions we want to use. I will look at this and see it it's just a
caching problem or if there is something I missed.
didn't you succeed in implementing an appropriate rewrite rule?
No I did not do this. I will monitor the apache2 logs for a couple days
and if I see 404 errors from enough external links I will look into
adding a rewrite rule. For now, we will leave it as is.
