(this is some code to display the browser's language instead of
"Language Selection" if the language is anything other than English in
the header via JavaScript for the homepage only). The header has used
the $helmR.getEncodedFullURL() function for ages to redirect people
back to the page they were on when they submit their login data, and
"==" is a valid operator that hasn't caused any problems on other
pages.... so why it did this is really beyond me.

email to Webmaster. I will try to attach them to the issue, if anybody
thinks it's worth the trouble. (Attachments _do_ attach, but the open
browser tab is really in the deep weeds somewhere.)
