Hi Florian, Andy, all,

Here are a few threads to look at for past discussions on this issue
for those interested - but after you have read one thread you will
probably get the overall thrust. Other threads provide more specifics
for and against. I'm using mail-archive.com because I found its thread
handling to be better than OO.o's in these particular cases:

On the Website list, we had this discussion:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg02943.html

On the Art list, we also discussed action statements, starting with
the bottom of this email:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg02466.html

On the Marketing list, we had this discussion to help determine the
wording of the action statements:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg06817.html

One website that uses a similar approach is Land Transport NZ:
http://transact.landtransport.govt.nz/

Many months ago, I had asked if we could get some website statistics
to help us investigate if the action statements are working, if they
might be improved, etc.... but nothing came out of that - it seems
there are no web stats available. Another way to go about it might be
to do a User Experience evaluation. I'm not against change, but since
Maarten, the website project co-lead at the time approved of the
action statements, I'm very much against a hasty decision.

Regards,
Ivan.
