Greetings,

I have created two login ids, and I am confused about how I got into
this situation and whether I need to do anything about it. Is this
right place for me to bring my questions?

Brief history. Um, on second thought, let's just say history ...
(*) Around March, 2008, I created id 400guy with email
[email protected]. For a long time, I had not used it at all.
(*) Two days ago, I tried to sign on and was rejected. Figuring that
the system had purged my records because I was inactive for so long, I
created id tenger (well, the system turned it into Tenger) with the
same email address, and signed on successfully. The confirmation email
says the address is registered on OpenOffice.org Wiki.
(*) Yesterday, Tenger could not log on. I requested a change of
password. [email protected] sent me a url to visit. That page
addressed me as 400guy. I did not change my password, and I signed on
as 400guy.
(*) Today, I tried to sign on as 400guy, and the system rejected me. I
tried to sign on as Tenger, and the system rejected me. Then I signed
on as 400guy successfully. Well, at least the page heading on
<http://website.openoffice.org/servlets/SummarizeList?listName=dev> says
that I am logged in. However, <http://website.openoffice.org/> persists
in telling me that I am not logged in. Trying now to log in from there
I get results ...
  - 400guy: The page redisplays, saying "you are not logged in".
  - tenger: takes me to
<http://website.openoffice.org/servlets/TLogin;jsessionid=8C389CD9ECE3A2D6C7F349B9DDAE98E4>.

For myself, an indication of where I should use each id would be nice,
but I guess I can just keep trying the other one. If others are
similarly confused, something more is in order. That might be, perhaps,
to make the registration page clarify the scope of what the user is
registring for. The invalid login page could say for what area the
login being rejected. Other pages,
like <http://website.openoffice.org/> when it ignores my attempt to
login as 400guy, could be more forthcoming about why the attempt did not
work.

Is there a reason why one id should not work all the way across
openoffice.org?

Thank you for your attention.

Cheers,
Terry.
