I should now have fixed the corruption on conversion failure.

I cannot reproduce the conversion error; that may be because my
version of ImageMagick is

Version: ImageMagick 7.0.8-12 Q16 x86_64 2018-10-19 https://imagemagick.org

whereas Whimsy has:

Version: ImageMagick 6.8.9-9 Q16 x86_64 2018-09-28 http://www.imagemagick.org
