Just to be absolutely certain, when your instance template is listed in the
Description on this thread, it is missing a numerical specification for the
number of worker nodes (datanode/tasktracker only nodes). If you were just
typing it here to be short, then this won't help. If you copied it verbatim
from your config file, that could be the reason for the resource problem? This
your instance template from the Description with the "fix" I'm suggesting, if
it is a fix:
whirr.instance-templates=1
hadoop-namenode+hadoop-jobtracker+hadoop-datanode+hadoop-tasktracker,3
hadoop-datanode+hadoop-tasktracker
