Doing that straight copy is going to blow away the metadata.  The thing to
do would be to configure the deploy plugin:

http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-deploy-plugin/usage.html

(I would help but I'm GMT-5 and can't keep my eyes open for lack of sleep.
I wouldn't trust myself not to type rm -rf on people.apache.org.   but, I
did just regenerate the Javadoc.)
