I don't receive much (any?) spam on this list.
If you refer to the spam posts on the Nabble forum, they don't bother me too much as I don't use their user interface. Why don't you grant some Nabble users authorization to clean up there, if they want to? Put a disclaimer on the front page calling for volunteers.

Note that if we decided to remove the lists from Nabble, anyone could re-register them the following day on their account.
