All, The ASF has a slack group, so I joined using my @apache.org email. I also created a Wicket channel over there.
It should not be used for official decision making, but as a back channel or flushing out features it can be a great tool, similarly the way we used irc. https://the-asf.slack.com is the slack group. Martijn
