Hello,
For those who were patiently waiting, here is the great news.
WriterPerfect-0.7.0, WordPerfect import filter for OpenOffice.org
1.1.x was released on Friday, 11 February 2005. You can download the
source package as well as the Windows installer from:
http://libwpd.sourceforge.net/download.html
WriterPerfect-0.7.0 is based on libwpd-0.8.0. Changes since the last
released version (0.2.1) are inter alia:
+ Added support for WP 3.0-3.5e for Mac file format
+ Enhancements in the conversion of WP5 documents:
- Conversion of extended character set,
- Conversion of text attributes (bold, italic,...),
- Conversion of page form and orientation,...
+ Enhancements in the conversion of WP6+ documents:
- Improved list conversion,
- Fixed bug when certain documents were loosing text when converted,
- Conversion of page form and orientation,
- Conversion of text colour, highlight colour,...
- Improved conversion of tables (header row, alignment inside cells,
text attributes inside cells, row height,...)
- Conversion of paragraph spacing, of paragraph aligment done by tabs,
- Conversion of tab stop definition function,...
This filter is meant to work with OpenOffice.org 1.1.x /
StarOffice/StarSuite 7. It will NOT work with 2.0. An import filter
based on WriterPerfect is part of the 2.0 code since milestone m62.
Since WriterPerfect is also part of ximian's ooo-build and thus part
of the OpenOffice.org packages distributed by all major Linux
distributions, we are not releasing Linux binaries. If needed, it can
be built from source following the instructions inside the
writerperfect-0.7.0 tarball.
For those who would like to profit from WriterPerfect on Mac OS X, it
is part of Neooffice/J (http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/), a native
port of OpenOffice.org 1.1.x for Mac OS X.
Grab it while it is still hot and enjoy
