Hi, When the server starts it is setting the CARBON_HOME value. So even if you unset the CARBON_HOME value before the server starts, it will not affect the server starting process. The interesting thing is how the CARBON_HOME was set to some other place(/usr/nashry/home/SOFTWARES/org.wso2.carbon.server-4.2.0 as you mentioned in the mail) in the first time. If you able to reproduce the same scenario please update this thread.
