Sorry for being late on this but why are we doing a major version bump if the changes are backwards compatible? It goes against the meaning of the semantic versioning strategy and gives a wrong impression to the consumers of this feature/component thinking that there are backwards incompatible API changes and hence discouraging quick upgrades from the earlier version.
