   @vlsi: Reworking the test driver alone into Gradle wouldn't strike me as 
especially useful, especially if we plan to integrate them into xalan-java 
which, for better or worse, is currently being mavenized. (I'd say that final 
acceptance of Maven was still up for debate, but having burned this much of 
Xander's time I think we're pretty much committed. My own time ... meh.)
   
   Reworking the tests themselves into junit (or Spock, or .... needs to be 
resolved) rather than our custom drivers, while remembering that reusability 
against other XSLT/XPath  implementations was and arguably still is a goal, 
could be valuable no matter what environment they are executed from.
   
   If you want to contribute, contribute, rather than complaining about past 
delays/mistakes/disagreements. If you want to be sure you're investing time in 
something that is certain to be accepted (assuming decent implementation), feel 
free to propose it on the dev list first to get discussion of needs or 
solutions out of the way before you start coding.
