It seems that the isCastorType() method in CastorTypeCreator class throws a
runtime exception, because Mapping.XML nor mapping.getResolver() exists in the
release 1.0.4 of Castor.xml, but it's the one precised in the dependency guide
XMLClassDescriptorImpl xd = (XMLClassDescriptorImpl) mapping
.getResolver(Mapping.XML).getDescriptor(clazz);
