I also think ZEPPELIN-1980 should be included in 0.7.0 https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZEPPELIN-1980
The reason being, built-in matplotlib integration is a major new feature that is slated to be included in 0.7.0, but without this PR, it will be broken for users with matplotlib 2.0.0, which was just recently released. The relevant PR should be merged shortly.
