Hi Paul, welcome and congratulations on being accepted - it's great to have you on-board.
It is a community-bonding period of the program now, so in order to be able to start the project on time students are expected to start preparing for it (build Helium, run it, explore visualization options, submit small fixes\patches, improve the docs, etc) and participate in public community work by helping other users on the list, etc. Please mind that successful accomplishment of community-bonding period is pre-request in order for a project to succeed, as well as mid-term and final evaluations are.
