I'd like to understand why the truncation is not working, but since we don't
actually guarantee correctness in such scenarios, I don't think it should block
the release. Again, we can keep working on it until we produce a release
candidate, but I'd like to make sure that we agree that it shouldn't block the
release when time comes.
