All of this work started because I (and other users) want to integrate with Prometheus. We have to land this patch to master and migrate all metrics (the ones not implementated with ServerMetrics) to MetricsProvider. Then the plan is to provider a Prometheus MetricsProvider. I will also add the ability for a MetricsProvider to attach to the admin server (this would not needed indeed because Prometheus client can expose its own jetty service, but we will discuss about this as soon as we can talk really about Promethus) Stay tuned
