Is it true that 2.5.7 is going to actually exist?

imply that the decision hadn't been made yet.
Some follow ups suggest that rekkanoyro has been working on something
that might become 2.5.7, but it's unclear still if it's for sure.
Sounds to me like things are still in flux there.
