Hi Team,

in an earlier thread I had tried to communicate some changes to the website and I made a mess of it. Since then I have put some more thought into these ideas and I hope they'll meet your approval.

I'd like to propose the following changes:

1. Turn the "About" page (http://trac.adium.im/wiki/AboutAdium/Sandbox) into a non-wiki page and give it a tab on the homepage.

2. Link from the "About" page to a Wiki page with a full list of supported services (http://trac.adium.im/wiki/ListOfServices/Sandbox).

3. Merge ListOfServices (http://trac.adium.im/wiki/ListOfServices) and ServiceInteroperability (http://trac.adium.im/wiki/ServiceInteroperability) into (http://trac.adium.im/wiki/ListOfServices/Sandbox).

4. Link from the list of supported services (ListOfServices/Sandbox) to dedicated pages for each service with brief descriptions, history, information on censorship and known issues.

5. Merge FAQ regarding [Service]Censorship (http://trac.adium.im/wiki/AIMCensorship, http://trac.adium.im/wiki/ICQCensorship, http://trac.adium.im/wiki/MSNCensorship) into these dedicated pages.
6. Create separate tabs for "Support" and "Development":
- Support should link to a page similar to Pidgin's Support page (http://pidgin.im/support/)
  - Development goes to [wiki:Development]

Why these changes?

1. As a tab and a prettily designed proper webpage (in contrast to a Wiki page) the "About" page could gain more prominence and properly boast Adium's great features.

2. I don't think it is necessary to name all the supported services on the features page. Users already get a good idea on the front ("Download") page.
3. ListOfServices and ServiceInteroperability currently share information.

4. In the past few days, I have created these dedicated pages. Right now, they are linked to from the current "About" page.

5. By inclusion of a "censorship" section in the dedicated pages, the specific censorship pages are rendered obsolete.

6. This separation benefits a clear view and reduces user confusion.

Who puts the changes through?
I can do 3., 4. and 5. (Wiki stuff) myself but I would need someone with knowledge of doing websites to get 1., 2. and 6. done.

Also see http://trac.adium.im/wiki/AdiumSupportConcept for reference.
