I don't think the version numbers themselves are important; I just wanted to be
clear that:
- This will be an Adium 1.5 move, not one in the very end of the Adium
1.4 beta cycle. I think everyone can agree that major changes - be they
features or bug fixes [in the case of longstanding bugs] - aren't desirable so
close a release.
- Saying it's an Adium 1.5 move just means that we can consider working
on it as soon as 1.4 is out the door.
- I'm interested in pursuing msn-pecan, even knowing that there is at
least one significant feature that we'll be dropping initially... but that part
of that interest is predicated upon a willingness to respond to feedback. It
sounds like you do have that willingness - that if a significant number of
users cry foul when the trade-off is made, you'll work on YIM support. We
really are serious about not wanting users to have to think, "Damn, I upgraded,
and now I've lost out on things that were important to me." We want to reward,
not punish, adoption.

Correct. And contrary to some claims otherwise, I think this has been a highly
productive thread. Your approach to debate may be somewhat confrontational at
times, Felipe, but your passion for developing a library for the MSN protocol
is clear.
