So, after reading everyone's comments, I have to say that I agree, none of them quite make the bullseye. That, and the Mention icon looks too similar to the Message Alerts icon, which is made worse by the fact that it's right next to it. So, I did some brainstorming, and came up with a different metaphor: a highlighter. I also came up with a new road sign icon for Confirmations, which I've included here too. Again, all comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
