Yeah, what Chris said. I have a solution: Borrow from Google's Street View. Normally, Street View takes up the entire map section of the page (the sidebar, if not hidden, counts separately). In a corner is a miniature section of the map. If you click on the corner of the division between that section and the Street View, the map expands to fill the lower ~45% of the map/street view section. So, let's do something like that. Have the video be that corner view, in either the lower-right or upper-right corner of the message view. If you expand it, it grows to fill the lower (or upper) ~70% of the message view. The thousand-dollar-mirror view should only be visible in the larger video view.
