Hi Jack, I believe that driver has only been tested with the FT232AM, which has not been manufactured for several years now. Ashley (cc'd) implemented it as an intern project in 2013: https://github.com/tianocore/edk2/commit/3f1484f
There probably needs to be some work done to get it running with newer FTDI chips like the FT232RL.
