Hi,

The version of SMPP in kannel is 3.4. The SEMA SMPP implementation checks
the version and if it is 3.4 the SEMA implementation stores the message
contents in the message payload field. This is why the sm_length is set to 0
as required by the SMPP specification. The message payload paramter is an
optional parameter in SMPP that is not currently supported by Kannel.
However if you set the version to 3.3 then this should solve the problem
that you are experiencing as the SEMA implementation will then store the
message contents in the short message field.

Kind Regards,
Michael Mulcahy.

Subject: Kannel 1.1.5 (SMPP) to SMSC-SEMA

Hi all,
we use kannel 1.1.5 (SMPP-3.4) connected to SMSC-SEMA.
The messages from kannel to SMSC to Mobile come sended correctly.
When we receive a message( Mobile-SMSC-kannel) the field short-message is
empty and the field lenght is 0.
Where it can be the problem?
Use kannel 1.0.3 (SMPP) the receive message è correctly.

Awaiting your earliest help!!!

Thanks & Regards

Angelo
