The AT2 module can be configured to use the +CSQ command as a keep-alive command, and so its result would be written to the logs. but that result will never be used. it may be nice to add a feature to read and understand +CSQ return codes, but keep in mind that not all cellular modems support that command.

a no signal state may cause to halt the sending process until the
signal is back up again?! Just my two cents.
