There is a lot of complexity involved; let us take the lead on this. The current plan (subject to change, but looking pretty good so far) -- I'm trying to bring someone on board in April to lead the porting work in-house here at OLPC. Once we get the effort bootstrapped, we'll open it up to the community and welcome contributions.
