Could we turn that on in near future. Then people can avoid building custom kernels to run OProfile? The 314 build still doesn't have OProfile enabled. Who do I need to make the request to change the line in the kernel config files to mke oprofile support available?

How do we get useful oprofile output with all binaries stripped and no
-debuginfo packages?

You could copy over the oprofile samples files and do the analysis on another machine. Nothing says that the debuginfo must be on the machine collecting the data.

I asked about the location of the debuginfo files before. They were not generally available. The kernel debuginfo rpms are the one exception. They can be obtained from:

It would be good to make the olpc debuginfo rpms available like the fedora core packages.
