Four questions.
I've install Mandrake 6.0 on a BP6 mobo with 2 celerons (great machine, although
there's still no Mandrake installation support for the ultra-ATA/66 HPT366
chipset ) in order to do some ARM kernel developement.
As a first experiment I want to recompile the kernel I actually use on my
SMP machine. Well, since there's a _lot_ of options in the "make config" of the
kernel, I would like to start by using as much as possible the same config file
as the one from the original mandrake kernel.
I've found a file, from the kernel-source-2.2.9-19mdk package called
/usr/src/linux-2.2.9/arch/i386/defconfig, which I think is used by
/usr/src/linux-2.2.9/arch/i386/config.in when a "make oldconfig" is performed,
and which I think could be the original config file for the Mandrake kernel.
Am I right on that one?

If so, which of the 6 different kernels (straight, fb, ibcs, pcmcia-cs, smp,
smp-fb) that come with Mandrake 6.0 is that config file for ?

And finally what are the differences between gcc and pgcc ?
Will pgcc allow me to cross-compile an ARM kernel (the real goal of all this)?

Thanks
