That is covered by the existing triggers:
%transfiletriggerpostun -n info -- %{_infodir}
[ -f %{_infodir}/dir ] && %{_sbindir}/fix-info-dir --delete %{_infodir}/dir
&>/dev/null
If fix-info-dir is not working as documented (where --delete explicitly
is supposed to remove things from the dir node which don't exist) then
that would be worthy of a bug against texinfo.
