gradle-local package can't be removed yet because other packages depend on it. Removing dependency involves porting packages from Gradle to Maven, which can only be done by package maintainers. However most of Java package maintainers are not really active. Only after gradle package is retired, packages that transitively build-depend on it (through graldle-local) will become FTBFS and I will be allowed to fix them per provenpackager policy.
Oh. If you know how to fix the packages per provenpackager policy, it means we can retire gradle right away?
