Hi
Anyone here who is a bit familiar with the SCons build system? I'm
trying to get mingw-nsis building and I'm fighting with scons refusing
to process any "install" target, erroring out with messages like
scons: *** Do not know how to make File target `install-utils'
(/<...>/nsis-3.05-src/install-utils). Stop.
I highly suspect this is a python3 incompatibility in the SConstruct
file shipped by mingw-nsis [1], as even replicating exactly the same
commands which are executed for this debian package build [2], I'm stuck
with this error. The difference that sticks out is that this debian
package was built using python2-scons, whereas I'm using python3-scons.
Looks to me like the install targets are not properly registered?
FWIW, the source tarball is [3] and these are the two commands I'm
trying to run (first one, which would end up in the %build section,
succeeds; second one, which would end up in the %install section, fails
with the above mentioned error)
$ scons VERSION=3.05-1 VER_MAJOR=3 VER_MINOR=05 VER_REVISION=1
PREFIX=/usr PREFIX_CONF=/etc CHMDOCS=0 STRIP_CP=no UNICODE=yes
SKIPUTILS='Library/RegTool,MakeLangId,Makensisw,NSIS
Menu,UIs,SubStart,zip2exe' SKIPDOC=COPYING makensis
$ scons VERSION=3.05-1 VER_MAJOR=3 VER_MINOR=05 VER_REVISION=1
PREFIX=/usr PREFIX_CONF=/etc CHMDOCS=0 STRIP_CP=no UNICODE=yes
SKIPUTILS='Library/RegTool,MakeLangId,Makensisw,NSIS
Menu,UIs,SubStart,zip2exe' SKIPDOC=COPYING install-utils
install-compiler install-conf
Thanks
Sandro
