No no no!  That's *not at all* what it is.  I am actually kind of at war with 
the "immutable" terminology because it's more isleading than it is accurate.

/etc and /var are fully persistent!  It's just an "image based" update system, 
and /usr is read-only by default, but you can still layer/override packages, 
and in the future I'd like to make it easier to use ostree to persist non-rpm 
changes.
