Sorry, my bad. I've seen errors like "Timeout was reached for
ftp.example.org".
There are a lot of mirrors with ftp subdomain:
- ftp.lysator.liu.se
- ftp.nluug.nl
- ftp.fau.de
- ftp.lip6.fr
- ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de
- ftp.acc.umu.se
- ftp.byfly.by
- ftp.fi.muni.cz
- ftp.plusline.net
- ftp.upjs.sk
I checked metalink and all of these servers use only http and rsync
protocols.
Now we can drop FTP support from libcurl safely.
