Next up: I see you're planning to remove the brotli compression support. I think that's actually used along with gzip for HTTP/2. Probably don't want to remove that.

The trick is that HTTP/1.1 has ossified, so you can only safely enable it for HTTP/2 and up (where the content encoding is encrypted, so middleboxes can't see it and screw it up). I'm sure curl has thought of all this already.
