Just after sending this message, it occurred to me that I could just use the developer tools in the browser to check the URL of the API endpoint being called and then just send a similar request using curl.
So it is quite possible that it was, indeed, my memory playing tricks on me, and I used to get that info by calling the API endpoint. A.FI.
