2 weeks ago we had:

23148 spec files in Fedora
> 29121 license tags in all spec files
> 24483 tags have not been converted to SPDX yet
> 10099 tags can be trivially converted using `license-fedora2spdx`

Today we have

* 23184 spec files in Fedora

* 29200 license tags in all spec files

* 23682 tags have not been converted to SPDX yet

* 9377 tags can be trivially converted using `license-fedora2spdx`

The list of packages needed to be converted is again here:

https://pagure.io/copr/license-validate/blob/main/f/packages-without-spdx-final.txt

New version of fedora-license-data has been released - big kudos to Jilayne and
Richards for the license reviews.

I gathered the progress in this spreadsheet:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QVMEzXWML-6_Mrlln02axFAaRKCQ8zE807rpCjus-8s/edit?usp=sharing

It includes burn-down chart. I should rather call it burn up chart. Because we will be done when the blue part will be up to 100 %.

It is too early to make any predictions as we have only 3 records. But anyway - with this speed of progress we will be done in 20 months.

I want to point one - if you are maintainer of package with license "Copyright only" or
"Redistributable" then please read:

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/legal/update-existing-packages/#_freely_redistributable_without_restrictions

Because in your case you will likely have to submit the license for review. And
that takes some time.

Happy Christmas and New Year to everyone.

Miroslav
