forums may have different priorities from each other.
But make no mistake, killing off will effectively end Fedora as a viable
target for playing games [1], and this will have serious implications
for our userbase. Folks want one OS that does *everything*, and "being
able to play games" has consistently ranked as one of the largest
barriers to "average folks" adopting Linux.
(And while "let's push all of this onto Valve" solves the problem with
Steam, that leaves out everything else..)
[1] As others have pointed out, a wide assortment of 32-bit libraries
are still necessary for Wine, and that's not likely to meaningfully
change in the next 12 months. Putting aside Wine, there's still the
matter of 32-bit GPU driver stack as all existing runtimes expect
that to be provided by the host OS. And anectdotally, most *native
Linux* game binaries I have will forever remain x86-only.
